No "Antrics" For Middletown - Pettinaro Pulls Permit Request For Under-21 Club

I am not unsympathetic to the property owner for stepping away from plans for an underage party spot but it is a shame that so much controversy accompanies avenues for keeping kids out of trouble. Maybe if they'd called it the Curfew Club instead of a tantalizing play on antics?

The shopping center owner asked the Town Council to table a permit request for Antrics, a proposed youth center-dance club at 881 N. Broad St. Pettinaro Corp. doesn’t want the club there, Town Manager Morris Depu­ty said.

Plans had included using the facility for dancing on weekends and exercise classes, birthday parties and other youth activities during the week. The town Public Safety Commission twice declined to endorse the proposal earlier this year. “The club won’t be back on the agenda unless they find another loca­tion,” town spokeswoman Kristen Krenzer said.
