Two poultry litter incinerators proposed in Delaware “Renewable Oil International”

There are actually three incinerators in Delaware, going through the official process intended to conclude that an incinerator is not an incinerator.
The first of these is the “Renew Oil” tire and plastics burner proposed in the City of New Castle, DE.  The public comment period on this has been extended to September 9, 2013.
The other two schemes are from “Renewable Oil International” and proposed to be located in Seaford, Delaware, and Millsboro, Delaware.

Update from facebook - Amy Roe writes ~

More drama on the incinerator ban status decisions for 2 poultry pyrolysis projects in Sussex County by Renewable Oil International (ROI).
P. 7 of the applications states: “ROI presently has a plant in AL capable of processing 2.5 dry tons per day of feedstock.”

The website for Renewable Oil International lists the address as 3115 Northington Court Florence, AL 35630.

A telephone call to Alabama Department of Environmental Management (Aaron Peters, August 20, 2013) confirmed that there was no similar pyrolysis project at this address and no permitted poultry or pyrolysis facility in Alabama owned or operated by Renewable Oil International LLC.

In addition to citing misleading and false information about the environmental benefits of the project, the applicant appears to have also provided misleading and false information about other projects that it operates.

Comments are due tomorrow. I will emphasize the false and misleading info in the Chapter's statement.
