Adam Taylor is addicted to yellow journalism. Another front page story today but this one didn't have the legs the Rockwood story had.....he got little reward for his troubles....

- Who are the adults in the room? 

- People, women or men, who use this phrase so freely should go to a veterans hospital and see our men and women who have lost their limbs, eyesight, etc. because of the wars. Whatever happened to this woman, she is not a war victim; and she has demeaned those who are as well as the families who have lost their loved ones. 

- These are the people who are supposed to look out for us? Bickering over silly BS while the County slides down the tubes.

Diller says Gordon administration waging 'war on women'

Diller said in an inter­view this week that a male council member wouldn’t be admonished if they had yelled at Pepukayi. “I am just so appalled at the way, given what I’ve seen of my male col­leagues’ behavior, that someone’s frustration over real performance is­sues in a job has become contorted in the way that is has. It’s just deeply of­fensive to me.” Diller pointed to Gor­don’s email criticizing her and his recent comments about Janet Kilpatrick, the other woman on coun­cil. Gordon said Kilpat­rick “never met a devel­oper she didn’t like.” Dill­er also pointed out that 84­year-old Nancy Schanes no longer volunteers at Rockwood Museum after a confrontation with Da­vid Grimaldi, Gordon’s top aide. “Anybody who has tak­en ‘Introduction to Wom­en’s Studies’ can see what is happening,” Diller wrote in a letter to The News Journal. “If you are a woman, and you ask questions and demand ac­countability, you will be targeted and labeled in or­der to minimize your ef­fectiveness. “Citizens in New Cas­tle County would do well to pay attention to the war on women being waged against Janet Kilpatrick and me, and now an 84­year-old lady who was a volunteer at Rockwood,” Diller said.

In interviews Tuesday, Smith and Roosevelt Nichols, the local NAACP’s assistant secre­tary, said they never ac­cused Diller of being rac­ist. They said they are fo­cused on the disrespect they said she showed Pe­pukayi..........Smith and Nichols said the NAACP hasn’t re­ceived the meeting it re­quested to discuss the Diller-Pepukayi incident. Bullock said that meeting could take place soon, and he encouraged Diller to apologize to Pepukayi.“If Tom Gordon apolo­gizes to Janet, I’ll be glad Jea Street, the coun­cil’s other black member, called Diller’s behavior “outrageous.” “I’ll just leave it at that,” he said. Pepukayi declined comment. Gordon denied Diller’s accusations that he and his administration are treating women differ­ently. He said he didn’t contact the NAACP about her comments and simply thought she was rude to one of his appointees. He hired five female county attorneys since taking of­fice last year, retained three more and has three other top-level women on his staff. “I don’t think she’s a racist,” he said. “And I have a long history of working well with female county legislators, so she can’t make that case. There’s no war on women. All I know is that I’ve nev­er heard of a county attor­ney or an executive offi­cial being yelled at by a council member like that.” 

Meanwhile, Delaware Liberal's Cassandra Marshall continues her predictable onslaught against the Gordon camp on behalf of the Coonsies. Why this is still ON is a mystery - do the High Dems really think Gordon is going to try for Governor and bump one of their precious entitled pols out of turn?
