What do you get when you give a bunch of “anxious pop nerds” (their words, not mine) instruments and let them go nuts in Brooklyn? You get Miniboone, an indie pop rock outfit about to release their first full-length. The upcoming album is called “Miniboone” (sometimes written “MiniBoone,” sometimes not) and will be released September 10th on Ernest Jenning Record Co. where it’s available for pre-order as CD, LP, and MP3 download.
“I Could, I Could’s” video features the band with ridiculous giant paper mache heads on their shoulders running from a crowd that evidently wasn’t too pleased with their performance. The end result is a brand of dark humor as the band gets pummeled and tormented all while still donning their huge heads.
Check out the video below, directed by Pat Breen aka Garbagetown (who also directed the band’s video for Brand New Thing), and look for “Miniboone” in stores September 10th or pre-order it right now. GANDER WITH EXCITEMENT AT OUR NEW MUSIC-VIDEO!
As of right this very minute, the latest entry in the Miniboone Music-Video Hall of Fame, "I Could, I Could" (directed by Pat Breen, who also did our clip for "Brand New Thing") is available to be watched over at Death and Taxes. I don't think it's much of a spoiler alert to say it involves us running around wearing giant paper mache replicas of our heads.
We're pretty proud of how it turned out and we couldn't have made it without Pat and his team, or without the amazing friends who woke up early on a Sunday to stand around in the cold with us wearing ridiculous costumes. Thanks guys!
