More City-Fueled Confusion Over Data Center Power Plant Community Information Session - 7PM September 3rd At The George Wilson Community Center

My astute friends on facebook have already pointed out how Newark city government is still unable (or unwilling) to communicate with residents on what the heck is going on! 

Amy Roe ~ The City's announcement on page 5 of the municipal newsletter does not mention the power plant.

Paul Baumbach ~ Please note that despite the label, this meeting needs to focus on the proposed 248MW Power Plant. There is no controversy about the data center--that is 100% appropriate with, and a welcome addition to, the STAR campus. The power plant is a completely different story.

Jen Wallace ~ All Newark residents please pay attention, it's important! This announcement contains no mention of the 248MW power plant that is part of this project. That's 1/4 the power creation of the Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plant...right in in the middle of Newark at the former Chrysler site. Please make the time to attend this important public information session on Sept 3rd. We need to ask a lot of questions, because the city is systemically trying to hide this project from us. Pass it on, please!?

Steve Messick ~ sneaky, sneaky.the real reason for this hearing isn't the data center...that's what they STAR campus was designed to include.they would also like to build, as a "back-up system," a 284mw pwer plant...that's 1/4 the power creation of the hope creek nuclear power plant. that's far more than the data center needs for back-up. but wait...they can sell the "excess" power on the grid...and they will always, ALWAYS have lots and lots of excess.Power plants are non-stop and noisy; there is no respite. then consider the polluting effects on the immediate area.come out, not just if you live in newark, but if you live anywhere in new castle county.sneaky, sneaky.

So, it was good to see that Newark Councilwoman Marge Hadden sent the correct information along to constituents this morning and asked them to share ~ Data Center Power Plant Community Information Session September 3

Hi all,
To clarify the Data Center's Community Information Session on September 3, the purpose is to inform about aspects of their proposed project at the Chrysler location in Newark, and should provide information about their proposed Co-Generation Power Plant "accessory" building to be located there.
I know many of you have concerns about this large power generating facility so close to our neighborhoods. All concerned should make a special effort to come to the session:
