Pacem UpdatesDemonstration for Peace/War is not the answerPacem sponsored an "interactive" demonstration last week opposing the bombing of Syria. One of the signs, "Honk if you support peace" garnered a cacophony of horn blasts from the rush hour traffic that passed the demonstration site on the 95 overpass in Wilmington. Intern Opportunities, continuedThere are a number of Intern opportunities with local non-profit organizations.Pacem in Terris is one of these. We have a number of openings. One opportunity is for what we are calling a "Strategic Communications Intern." This intern will assist with the overall marketing and communications needs of Pacem.Other opportunities are for a Graphic Design Intern, a Research Intern and Development Intern. For more detailed descriptions of these positions, contact us here.The Delaware Repeal Project also has Intern openings. They are seeking interns to be a part of the campaign to repeal Delaware’s death penalty. Opportunities to get involved include:· Educating the public about the realities of the death penalty and encourage individuals to sign petition post cards through tabling at festivals and churches.· Hosting letter writing parties and guiding guests to write letters to their legislators in support of repeal.· Face to face and phone interaction with supporters and would-be supporters to engage them in the campaign and direct them to take action in support of the bill.· Collecting, organizing, copying, and mailing postcards to elected officials from constituents.If you are interested in getting involved or interning with the Delaware Repeal Project, please email.(If your non-profit organization has Intern opportunities, send them to me and we will publish them in PeaceWorks.)Climate UpdateBanks put a price on Earth's life support.
