On Hanging An Obama-Biden Tee-Wearing Skeleton

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — As much as he despises the current strain of Democrats, George Vucelich said he was not thinking about race or lynching — or anything beyond his political beliefs — when he slipped a noose around the neck of a plastic skeleton wearing an Obama-Biden T-shirt and suspended it from a maple tree in his yard.
“I thought it was a joke,” Vucelich said Tuesday while standing in front of his Dutch colonial home. “I put it up on a Sunday afternoon, and by Sunday evening the police were out front because someone had called 911 and complained.”
Vucelich, who is white, said others have snapped pictures and voiced their displeasure to township officials. As of Tuesday afternoon, he said no one from the township had asked him to modify his Halloween display.
