Call to Action: City Council Meeting October 28th
Please make sure to attend the next Newark City Council meeting on October 28th at 7pm (Newark Municipal Building 220 S. Main Street). We were promised answers to some of our many questions including whether the University will be able to purchase power directly from TDC as well as some issues regarding the zoning of the STAR campus.
See the Meeting Agenda here.
We would like to encourage everyone to sign up to speak during the public comment session, which takes place at the start of every city council meeting. Each person gets 3 minutes to speak and it's a good idea to prepare some comments ahead of time, because 3 minutes can go by quickly. Even if you do not plan on speaking, do sign up because you may be able to share your minutes with someone who needs longer than 3 minutes to make their point.
It is extremely important to attend as we have been getting reports of special interest groups from outside the city canvassing and calling residents in support of the power plant. We need to make it crystal clear to Council that they support the residents and not outside special interest groups!
Can we count on you to attend?
